Mission Meals/Adobe Books Parklet

Folks at Mission Meals & Adobe Books came together in service to their community during the uncertainty of a pandemic. The request was a parklet that felt welcoming and familiar to the existing Latinx residents to further encourage use of the community fridge/pantry. There was also a desire to increase foot traffic for the bookstore/co-op. Four options were provided within a few days to the stakeholders with the following in mind: the city of San Francisco’s safety requirements, flexibility for events, easy constructability & a lean budget and schedule.
